The Australian Higher Education Academy (AHEA) commenced operations as the Australian Child Care Academy in August 1995 and was the first Western Australian accredited and registered private training provider in the early childhood field.

The official opening was conducted by the then Premier’s wife, Jo Court.  Since then, AHEA has added other fields of study to their operations to ensure it is able to meet the growing and diverse demands of the public.  It is now located in one of the most prestigious buildings in West Perth.

Located on Transperth’s free Red Cat route, this location boasts outstanding access as well as student facilities. The building houses an excellent food court, travel agent and book store among other services. Transport is at the front door and is ten minutes from the city centre.

Staff employed by AHEA must have extensive industry experience and comply with the stringent standards monitored by the Western Australian Government’s Training Accreditation Council.

Since its inception, AHEA has always been at the forefront of training innovation in the community services area. It established one of the first Nanny Certificate courses specifically providing training for young ladies intent on travelling the world and gaining employment caring for children.  AHEA is capable of providing quality referrals to employment services from anywhere in the world.
