Recognition for what you know and can do already is often called Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competence (RCC).

AHEA has developed a simple to follow process to achieve recognition of your competence. We call it Facilitated Recognition because we support you through the process.

Certificate III in Aged Care

  • Communication skills with seniors and colleagues
  • Legislation requirements

Entry Requirements

Either:
  • satisfactory completion of a Year 10 education;
  • persons employed in the industry; or
  • adult entry
  • Trainees must be 18 years of age on completion of the course

Employment Oppurtunities

There is a wide range of positions graduates may be employed working as an assistant to the qualified 
aged carer.

What does the course cover?

Units of Competency at Certificate III level
 
CHCAC1C           Provide support to  an older person.
CHCAC2C           Provide personal care.
CHCAC3C           Orientation to aged care work
CHCAC6C           Support the older person to meet their emotional and psychosocial needs.
CHCAC15A          Provide care support which is responsive to the specific
CHCCOM2B         Communicate appropriately with clients and colleagues
CHCINF8B           Comply with information requirements of the aged care and community
                        care sectors.

CHCOHS302A      Participate in safety procedures for direct care work.
CHCORG3B          Participate in the work environment
CHCAC17A          Support the older person to maintain their independence
CHCDIS10B          Provide care and support
CHCGROUP2C       Support group activities

*** All units require students to demonstrate that they have gained competence from
        on-the
job training (Supervised Field Placement).
